Siberian rebirth

Today Christians celebrate a great holy day – Epiphany. This day Jesus came to the Jordan River to seek his own baptism from John the Baptist. And from that day forward his followers do the same thing.

Due to severe weather conditions it’s simply impossible to come into any Siberian river. They all are covered with thick layer of ice, about 1 metre. And there is minus 30-40 degrees Centigrade in Siberia on January 19th.

But Siberian is not the man who become despairing so easy.

They cut a hole in ice and then, brrr… dunk themselves into it. Wow.


It must have been quite a thrill. I’m so excited about the report I’ve seen, that I think I’m going to do it next time. Yeah, on January 19th in 2011. It’ll be my rebirth.
